(WatchDogReport.org) – The son of former President Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., received on February 26 an envelope with a suspicious white powder inside of it. The former commander-in-chief’s son immediately called authorities, and a hazmat team arrived at his Florida home to investigate the case.
News of the incident broke in the evening hours after numerous trucks were spotted outside his house in Jupiter. As reported by The Daily Beast, a person familiar with the matter said that while the substance’s results were “inconclusive,” officials believe that the white powder wasn’t deadly or dangerous. The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity, also told the media outlet that the letter contained a death threat against the presidential candidate’s son.
Experts believe that sending letters with these types of substances is a strategy used to intimidate the person who receives it, as it resembles numerous anthrax attacks that happened in the United States during the early 2000s, killing many.
Around the time that the media outlet released its first report about the incident, Donald Trump Jr., was promoting on his social media accounts an interview he would have with Rumble. The former commander-in-chief’s son has been active alongside the presidential candidate on the campaign trail to secure his nomination for the 2024 presidential election.
Following the incident, Donald Trump Jr. had an interview with the Daily Caller, where he said that America is in a dangerous moment as it has become too common that this “sort of stuff happens.” He also said that the media reaction would have been different if the incident happened to a “prominent Democrat.” He even claimed that the situation wouldn’t be tolerated by anyone, and it would’ve driven “news coverage for weeks.”
He also said the media would have blamed every single Republican politician for the incident and even made them responsible for it. Donald Trump Jr. also explained that since the incident happened to him, the mainstream media “will barely flinch.”
