Traitor Arrested After Attempting to Smuggle Immigrant Into Nation

(WatchDogReport.org) – A video published on April 1 showed the moment when police captured a Texas National Guardsman after smuggling an illegal alien to the US southern border and leading authorities on a chase in his government-issued SUV. The 26-year-old Specialist Savion Amari Johnson can also be seen in the footage being dragged out of his SUV by Kinney County sheriff’s deputies and Texas Department of Public Safety’s officers.

According to some reports, Johnson was arrested on March 31 in Brackettville after the high-speed chase and charged with unlawful carry of a gun, smuggling of persons, and evading arrest. The guardsman was formally deployed to the crossing at Eagle Pass as part of Republican Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star State.

During an interview with NewsNation, Kinney County Sheriff Brad Coe explained that Johnson decided to turn around at the moment some agents tried to stop him at Highway 674’s Border Patrol checkpoint. Coe added that officers had to use spike strips to stop the guardsman’s SUV, explaining that the illegal alien he was transporting jumped out of the vehicle and fled before surrendering. Border patrol agents eventually processed him.

As reported by NewsNation, some sources who spoke under condition of anonymity told the media outlet that Johnson was promised between $5,000 and $6,000 for smuggling the illegal immigrant into the United States. Coe also told NewsNation during the interview that while authorities “don’t know” what can be happening in the lives of law enforcement agents who decide to smuggle illegal aliens, they are going “to get caught.”

In a statement sent to Fox News, Abbott’s spokesperson said that Johnson could be considered a criminal and “a traitor” if the allegations against him were true. The spokesperson added that the state of Texas has no tolerance for Texans who violate every single law that contradicts the goals that “we’re seeking to achieve.” He also claimed that while Johnson could spend 10 years in prison for the illegal smuggling, “he deserves more.”
