Top Democrats Allegedly Forced Biden to Resign, Threatened to Remove Him

(WatchDogReport.org) – Leading Democrats allegedly threatened to force President Joe Biden out of office unless he agreed to step down from his re-election campaign, according to a source close to the Biden family. The source told reporters that high-level operatives in the party conducted a “palace coup” to pressure the 81-year-old president to abandon his reelection campaign.

By the time Biden announced his exit from his re-election bid, more than 30 Democrats had encouraged the president to step down. According to the source, the president continually resisted the pressure to step down. The source also stated that the president was angry, frustrated, and paranoid as the number of Democrats giving up on his campaign increased.

Even George Clooney, a major Democratic fundraiser and friend of Biden, reluctantly called on the president to step down. The actor acknowledged that Biden’s mental acuity was not the same as it was a few years ago and stated that the Democrats had no chance of preventing former President Donald Trump’s return to the White House with Biden as their presidential nominee.

Republicans did not stop putting pressure on Biden following his decision to withdraw from the race, and several in the party called for his immediate resignation. House Speaker Mike Johnson argued that if Biden cannot commit to a reelection campaign, he is not capable of serving out the remainder of his presidential term.

Republicans had previously suggested that Kamala Harris was the de facto president amid concerns about Biden’s mental fitness. Since the vice president secured enough support from Democratic delegates to qualify for a presidential nomination, the GOP is emphasizing Harris’ links to the Biden administration’s controversial policies on the economy, the border crisis, and social issues such as abortion and gender.

Though he had joined other Democrats in encouraging Biden to reconsider his campaign, former President Barack Obama published a statement praising his political accomplishments and acknowledged Biden’s reluctance to give up the fight. He added that Biden would not have chosen to step down unless he felt it was in the country’s best interests.
