(WatchDogReport.org) – Britney Spears caused a stir when she addressed rumors about her return to the music industry, asserting firmly that she’s permanently stepping away from it.
In response to the buzz surrounding her supposed work on a 10th studio album, the pop icon took to Instagram to state, “Just to be clear, the majority of the news is trash!!” Dismissing reports of collaborating with songwriters, Spears made it abundantly clear that her involvement in music is a thing of the past. She mentioned finding pleasure in writing songs for others and revealed her activities as a ghostwriter.
With a straightforward statement, she emphasized her stance on writing music, stressing her preference for doing it solely for enjoyment or on behalf of other artists. Highlighting her role as a ghostwriter, she divulged having penned over 20 songs for different artists over the past two years.
Accompanying her post was Guido Reni’s artwork, “Salome Bearing the Head of St. John the Baptist,” which appeared to symbolize her sentiments toward the industry and its audience.
This declaration marks a notable moment for Spears, known for chart-topping hits like “Baby One More Time” and “Toxic,” as she unequivocally closes the door on a potential musical comeback. Despite persistent calls from her fans for a return and her earlier hesitations about reentering the industry, this is the first time she has resolutely declined.
In her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” published last year, Spears delved into her life under a conservatorship, revealing personal details about relationships and her experiences within the music business. She admitted to having an abortion at a medical facility while dating Justin Timberlake. She has consistently emphasized her focus on self-exploration rather than pursuing a music career at this phase of her life.
Amid swirling rumors of a return to music, her recent statement reaffirms her decision to distance herself from the industry. For now, she prioritizes her writing endeavors and personal journey over any potential return to the studio or stage.
