(WatchDogReport.org) – California police arrested music artist Sean Kingston in Fort Irwin on May 23 in connection with a police raid at his mansion in Florida earlier that day.
During a press conference, the Public Information Officer of the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Carey Codd, said that authorities arrested the Jamaican-American rapper on an arrest warrant for theft and fraud charges. He also told reporters that the artist’s mother, Janice Turner, was arrested during the raid and that Kinston, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, was booked into jail in San Bernardino.
Codd emphasized the comprehensive nature of the investigation, which involved multiple law enforcement agencies. He explained that the search warrants and arrests were executed at the Southwest Ranches mansion after an extensive investigation that originated in Dania Beach. The operation was a joint effort, with the Davis Police SWAT, the Dania Beach District, and the Broward Sheriff’s Office Strategic Investigations Unit all playing crucial roles. When questioned about the arrest of Kingston’s mother, Codd clarified that it was due to her involvement in her son’s alleged crimes. He concluded by stating that the investigation against the artist is currently “active and ongoing.”
A couple of minutes after the raid at his mansion, Kingston posted a message on Instagram saying that even when many people loved “negative energy,” he and his mother were “good.” He also wrote that his legal team was “handling everything.”
Kingston, once hailed as one of the most promising talents in the rap and pop scene, catapulted to superstar status in 2007 with his debut single, Beautiful Girl. His talent was undeniable, leading many music experts and journalists to predict a dominant role in the industry with multiple hits and even Hollywood appearances. Collaborations with A-list artists like Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, and Justin Bieber further solidified his status. However, his career trajectory has not lived up to these early expectations.
