(WatchDogReport.org) – Political analysts and former White House officials are warning that the United States might experience a national security risk in the event Vice President and presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris wins the presidential election. While some journalists have said that many Democrats believe Harris is not the right candidate to beat former president and Republican nominee Donald Trump, she has already received the support of over 1,976 delegates.
A former White House official who expressed his concerns over a Harris victory was former National Security Council and senior communications adviser at the White House Michael Bars. He explained that back in 2021, he determined that Harris was too “novice” on national security and foreign affairs, and claimed that she still is. Bars even stated that things would get “perilous” for the United States and its allies in the geopolitical sphere if Harris became president.
Political analysts and Heritage Foundation’s senior defense executive Victoria Coates also said that Harris was incapable of conducting a competent national security and foreign policy if she becomes the commander-in-chief. Coates, who also worked at the White House as a national security advisor, explained during an interview with The Daily Caller that she had a massive “failure” in addressing the root causes of the migrant crisis that the country is experiencing. She added that one of the worst aspects of the vice president on foreign policy is not only her lack of knowledge and experience but also that she seems to have a “woke” approach to international matters.
Another expert who blasted Harris was Cato Institute Director of Foreign Policy and Defense Studies Justin Logan, who explained that her views on foreign affairs and national security may change depending on political favorability. Logan said that while her stance on some international matters has been wrong, the most concerning aspect is that she changed it when she was a senator and did it again when she became vice president.
