Meet JD Vance’s Wife, Usha, an Ivy-League Powerhouse

(WatchDogReport.org) – Journalists on social media made a description of Usha Chilukuri Vance, who is the wife of the Ohio Republican Senator JD Vance, a couple of hours after he was tapped to be the running mate of former president Donald Trump on July 15. The main details they share are the fact that she’s an educated litigator who graduated from Yale Law School and that she’s the daughter of an immigrant couple from India.

Chilukuri, who clerked for Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, met her future husband in 2013 at the Ivy League academic institution when they were both students. Chilukuri and Vance married a year later and had their first son, Ewan Blayne, in 2017, their son Vivek, in 2020, and their daughter, Mirabel, in 2021.

During a June interview with Fox News, she explained it was impossible for her to know if she was prepared to be in the spotlight if Trump ended up picking her husband as his vice-presidential nominee. Chilukuri said that she doesn’t know if any person in the United States is prepared for such a level of scrutiny, and detailed that the couple was shocked by it during the first political campaign Vance was involved in. However, she said that while it was something different from all the situations they experienced as a couple, she didn’t have a bad time and even felt it like an “adventure.”

Chilukuri was raised in San Diego, California, under the religion of Hinduism. At Yale, she was the editor-in-chief of the university’s Law Journal and was also a managing editor of the Law and Technology Journal. After graduating, she studied history at the University of Cambridge as a Scholar.

She’s currently working at the Munger, Tolles & Olson DC law firm, where she exclusively focuses on civil appeals and litigation in a wide range of topics, including technology, entertainment, local government, and even higher education.
