(WatchDogReport.org) – Iconic R&B singer Jean Knight died of natural causes on November 22. She was considered one of the greatest voices of the 1970s and was known all around the world because of her famous hit “Mr. Big Stuff,” which dropped in 1971. Her publicist said in a statement she died peacefully at the age of 80.
In a separate statement, the singer’s family recounted her career and said that her legacy is not exclusively related to music, as it’s a “testament” to the “enduring love” between an artist, the place where she lived, and those who love her. The family added that the R&B singer was an “iconic soulstress,” and noted that her fans in New Orleans and all around the world are joining together in “gratitude” for an artist who left an “indelible mark.”
As reported by different media outlets, “Mr. Big Stuff” was one of the greatest songs in R&B’s history, not only because of its rhythm and musical composition but also because of its massive success.
