(WatchDogReport.org) – Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has faced mounting criticism in recent months because of his company’s alleged censorship of conservative voices. But, that hasn’t prompted him to make any changes. In fact, a high-ranking US official was recently on the receiving end of a violation on the social media platform.
According to a report by The Federalist, Twitter suspended Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan’s account on October 28. The company cited “hateful conduct” as the justification, but not for the reason you might think. The social media giant punished him because he celebrated the success of the border wall.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) slammed Twitter for suspending Morgan’s account.
Yesterday @jack told @SenateCommerce that @Twitter doesn’t censor political views it doesn’t like. Hours later Twitter suspended the Customs and Border Commissioner for supporting a border wall. Twitter just can’t help itself. #StopTheCensorshiphttps://t.co/TMgP27P9Bc

The suspension happened the very same day Dorsey was on Capitol Hill answering questions about the company’s censorship practices. It doesn’t seem as though the CEO is going to change the social media giant’s policies on his own. Congress might have to step in and make it happen.
