(WatchDogReport.org) – Former President Donald Trump’s possibly-unconstitutional impeachment trial is set to begin on February 8. In the week leading up to the charade, he’s been busy mounting his legal defense. That includes forming his legal team.
On January 31, Trump announced he has finally picked the attorneys who will defend him against the Democratic Party’s hit job. His lawyers are Bruce L. Castro, Jr. and David Schoen, two “highly respected trial lawyers” according to Trump’s statement. According to the former POTUS, Schoen was already a member of his pre-trial team. Both he and Castro believe the Senate trial is “unconstitutional” because Trump is no longer commander-in-chief.

What happens at this trial will set a precedent for all future presidents. Can Congress really impeach a former POTUS? Trump’s legal team, constitutional scholars, and 45 Republican senators all say “no.” Now, the lawyers just have to prove it so Democrats can never do this to another president ever again.
