Terminally-Ill Man Confesses to 1995 Killing (REPORT)

(WatchDogReport.org) – On April 26, 1995, Christopher Alvin Dailey died from a gunshot wound to the head in Decatur, Alabama. The 26-year-old’s murder went unsolved for 25 years, almost as long as he was alive. Then, the police received a confession.

On November 18, Alabama police arrested Johnny Dwight Whited, 53, after he called the Decatur Police Department and confessed to killing Dailey. Detective Sean Mukaddam, who specializes in cold cases, spoke to the terminally-ill man and listened to his confession. He reportedly couldn’t remember the date of the crime, so officers had to comb through cases until they found one that matched.

Dailey’s family was notified of the arrest. His sister was happy to finally get answers about what happened to her brother, even if she had to wait 25 years. Whited is now in jail on a $15,000 bond and police have charged him with murder.
