(WatchDogReport.org) – One of the Democratic Party’s key legislative items is the For the People Act. The bill will completely overhaul the election system if it passes the Senate. And recently, the majority and minority leaders faced off over it.
On Wednesday, March 24, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) went head-to-head at a Senate Rules and Administration Committee hearing about the legislation. The Democratic lawmaker said, “Shame, shame, shame,” when talking about Republican-run states moving to make voting safer. McConnell said the only people who should be feeling shame is the Left for trying to turn the “FEC into a partisan prosecutor” which will be controlled by the party of the president.

McConnell went on to call the bill “an invitation to chaos.” The legislation contains so many rules and regulations it would be difficult for states to put them in place before the midterm elections.
