Putin Asked To Use Nuclear Weapons by Russian Activists
(WatchDogReport.org) – Russian President Vladimir Putin sent his forces into Ukraine at the end of February, and since then, he has put the use of nuclear weapons on the table — at least in certain circumstances. However, according to Julia Davis of the Russian Media Monitor, reports of a rally through the streets of Moscow showed a hawkish group encouraging him to use those missiles on a completely different target: Washington, DC.

The unidentified leader of the protest began a series of chants that included lines such as (according to translations by Davis) “a flight task for the Sarmat missile. On Washington!” Sarmat is a reference to an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of carrying nuclear warheads that was introduced in 2018 and has been dubbed the Satan II by NATO.
Moscow TV host and propagandist Vladimir Solovyov has been adding fuel to the fire by encouraging Putin to use those same weapons against Europe. He claims Putin has a hypersonic missile that can reach London in nine minutes. Even more, Davis reports that Solovyov says the rally was likely approved by the Federal Security Service (formerly the KGB).
All of this posturing comes after the Russian military was forced to withdraw from the important port city of Kherson in Ukraine. This and other setbacks have some analysts concerned that if Putin feels backed into a corner, he could actually turn to his nuclear arsenal.
