(WatchDogReport.org) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) is one of the most popular Republicans right now. He’s a strong advocate for conservative values, ran his state incredibly well during the pandemic, and has shown support for his state’s most important professionals. He recently did something else that has people cheering.
On Wednesday, June 2, DeSantis signed the largest budget in state history. Among the allocations were $1,000 payments to all teachers and first responders. More than 350,000 workers will receive the boost. In addition to the money, the minimum teacher salary is being increased to $47,500. The budget also includes millions of dollars to help veterans.
As Governor, I am dedicated to maintaining Florida’s reputation as the most military and veteran-friendly state in our nation. The Florida Leads Budget provides $28 million for Florida defense infrastructure and Florida’s military families.https://t.co/TbMthYgPHA pic.twitter.com/0igugqBgEQ

DeSantis signed off on billions of dollars for education, money for the environment, and also funds that will help families. He said that the state managed to maintain “strong fiscal reserves and lowering taxes” for Florida families.
The governor is an alleged contender for the GOP’s nomination in 2024, even though he has not announced any plans to run for president. With decisions like this, it’s no wonder he is so popular.
