Ron DeSantis Bans Protests Targeting People's Homes

Ron DeSantis Orders PROTECTION – Ban Put In Place!

( – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has made it his mission to take on the far-left. The recent protests against US Supreme Court (SCOTUS) judges at their homes have infuriated many, including Conservatives in the Sunshine State. That’s why they took action to prevent it from happening in their state, and DeSantis was more than happy to agree.

On Monday, May 16, DeSantis signed HB 1571 into law. The legislation prohibits “picketing or protesting before or about a dwelling of a person with specified intent.” In other words, if a group of people protests outside of a Florida judge’s home to try to intimidate them into ruling a certain way, then it would be illegal.

Once the law takes effect, police will issue protesters a warning and then make an arrest if the person doesn’t leave the premises. They will be charged with a second-degree misdemeanor, punishable with up to 60 days in jail, 6 months probation, or both on top of a $500 fine.

In a statement to the press, DeSantis said he signed it to prevent “unruly mobs” from protesting outside of residences like the “angry crowds” that have been in front of the homes of the conservative justices of the SCOTUS. The protests took place after an unprecedented leak of a draft opinion in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. Conservatives have demanded accountability for picketers who are trying to change the minds of the justices.
