(WatchDogReport.org) – The year 2020 has been a doozy. We’ve had a global pandemic, murder hornets, hurricanes, a volcano eruption, and a disputed presidential race. Now, for the first time in 800 years, the planets will align on December 21; Newt Gingrich had something to say about that news.
In a December 20 op-ed, the former Republican speaker of the House said it’s “all too fitting” that Jupiter and Saturn will align to “form a great light” in the sky on Monday night. He recounted the story of the birth of Jesus, explaining how the wise men were guided by the Star of Bethlehem (aka the Christmas Star). Gingrich points out that particular star is formed when the planets align, like they will on Monday night.
If you’ve been noticing two star-like objects in the evening sky these past few weeks, that’s Jupiter and Saturn—and soon they’ll be closer than at any time in four centuries, a once-in-a-lifetime (and then some) treat! 1/8 pic.twitter.com/qMa2mqvipP

The last time this happened at night was 800 years ago. Now, the planets will come together once again for the whole world to see on “the darkest day of the year” as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas. How fitting.
