(WatchDogReport.org) – The election is technically over and the government is getting back to work. On Thursday, November 5, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell gave an update on the economy. He thinks Congress should pass a stimulus package to keep the country going in the right direction. It looks like Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell already had plans to do just that.
On Wednesday, a day before the Fed’s announcement, McConnell told reporters in Kentucky that he wants to pass another “rescue package” by the end of the year. According to the majority leader, the Senate will be back in session on November 9, and he plans to start working on another package right away.
Friday afternoon, McConnell signaled the bill will be smaller than previously expected after a good jobs report.

It’s unlikely Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is going to agree to a skinny package. Democrats in the House want a massive spending bill that includes millions for blue states. Republicans, on the other hand, want to make sure our great-great-grandchildren aren’t stuck footing the bill.
