(WatchDogReport.org) – Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, was once one of the most prominent figures in the GOP. She destroyed her position when she began attacking former President Donald Trump. Now, the congresswoman is feuding with a senator as well.
During an appearance on Fox News, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) brought up Cheney, saying he thought the situation with Cheney’s fall from grace within the party is sad. He went on to say he thinks she’s one of the people Trump shattered. He explained Cheney has so much hate for Trump that it’s “overridden everything in her system.” The congresswoman responded to the senator’s comments during a CNN interview.
Cheney told journalist Melanie Zanona that Trump “broke” Cruz. “A real man would be defending his wife, and his father, and the Constitution,” she said.

The congresswoman’s remarks were in reference to the 2016 GOP presidential primary when Trump shared an unflattering photo of Heidi Cruz. The former president also said Cruz’s father, Rafael, was linked to Lee Harvey Oswald, the man who killed President John F. Kennedy. The former senator forgave the 45th president for his comments and moved on, working with Trump to push the party’s agenda forward. Maybe Cheney wouldn’t be standing on the outside of the party and looking in if she had taken a page from his book.
