Harris Claims Democracy Is Biggest Security Threat in US

(WatchDogReport.org) – Vice President Kamala Harris has been under fire recently for failing to solve the problems she was placed in charge of solving, including the border crisis. She recently spoke to CBS’ “Face the Nation” as she completed her first year as the first woman to ever serve in the VP office. One of the statements Harris made during the interview caused an uproar.

On December 26, the interview between Harris and Margaret Brennan aired. During the sit-down discussion, the CBS host asked the vice president what she believed the biggest national security challenge was to the US. Brennan asked, “What is the thing that worries you and keeps you up at night?” The VP responded that the US democracy is one of those things. Harris said that Americans need to “fight for the integrity of our democracy.”

Harris told Brennan the US needs to strengthen its standing with allies, rebuild the trust between the countries and re-enter pacts like the Paris Agreement, because not doing so will weaken the nation’s security.

The vice president also claimed in the interview that Congress needs to pass a bill to protect voting rights, stating the country will no longer be a role model for democracy without it.

What do you think about Harris’ responses?
