(WatchDogReport.org) – When the COVID-19 pandemic began, many cities and states passed rules for businesses and residents. For instance, in Florida, cities wanted people wearing masks in establishments like gyms and stores, even though there was no statewide mandate. As a result, a husband and wife were arrested for allowing people in their gym without face coverings, but now the governor is taking action for people like them.
On Wednesday, May 12, Governor Ron DeSantis (R) spoke to Laura Ingraham about the arrests of Mike and Jillian Carnevale. He said he’s going to take steps to pardon them and any other business owner being penalized for not following the COVID-19 social distancing and mask rules. The governor also stated the arrests were “total overreach.”

DeSantis has spent the pandemic putting the rights of Florida residents first and remains committed to that. It’s easy to see why he’s so popular among Republicans.
