GOP Support Grows for Trump in Run for President

(WatchDogReport.org) – Former President Donald Trump is under scrutiny over several cases of varied charges alleged against him. Still, he is finding ever-increasing support from the Republican party in his aim to be America’s 47th President.

Trump announced his bid for office in November of 2022, and several GOP leaders jumped on board. Representatives Andy Biggs, Paul Gosar, Lindsay Graham, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Wesley Hunt, Ronny Jackson, Kari Lake, Troy Nehls, and Elise Stefanik immediately pledged their support. They praised the former President, referencing his campaign slogan to “Make America Great Again.”

As the spring of 2023 unfolds, more Republicans have joined the list of lawmakers in Trump’s camp. Tennessee Republican Senators Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty recently announced their official endorsements. Volunteer State Representatives John Rose and Diana Harshbarger, alongside colleagues from the Sunshine State, agreed.

Florida Republican Representatives Greg Steube, Matt Gaetz, Cory Mills, Byron Donalds, and Anna Paulina Luna have also offered their endorsements of the former President. The reps claim Trump is the only candidate who can reverse Biden Administration policies on day one in office.

Supporters credit Trump with secure borders, a booming economy, and more positive foreign relations than Biden’s Administration has been able to provide. According to them, Biden has destroyed the positive aspects of Trump’s efforts, pushing the country into a vulnerable state with staggering inflation and high gas prices.

Referring to America’s energy-related dependencies, exasperated by Biden’s climate change agenda, the GOP leaders believe the nation’s security is at risk. They say Biden has put the country at the mercy of its adversaries, a position they insist Trump would not allow.

Warning of an impending recession and a drug crisis brought on by open borders, GOP leaders are looking at Democratic-led states as the cause of lawlessness and lack of respect for the military and police. They say the weakening trend stems from Biden’s policies and that Trump can reverse the tide.
