(WatchDogReport.org) – China has been arresting and detaining millions of ethnic Uyghurs over the last few years. The Communist regime has reportedly put them in concentration camps and destroyed their cultural heritage sites, including graveyards. A new report is now accusing the country of violating international genocide laws.
On Tuesday, March 9, a report by the Newlines Institute for Strategy and Policy found the Chinese government has breached “each and every act prohibited” under the United Nations’ 1948 Genocide Convention. In a statement about the report, the organization said “dozens of experts” who have extensively studied “international law, genocide studies, Chinese ethnic policies, and the region” where the crimes are taking place have reached this conclusion.

The atrocities being carried out by China are appalling. Unfortunately, not enough countries have come forward to try to end the genocide. If the world doesn’t act soon, there’s a strong possibility it’ll be too late and nations will once again go down in history as failing to act quickly enough when a group of people was being destroyed.
