(WatchDogReport.org) – For years, Republicans have been saying the Left is trying to actively censor their voices. Oftentimes, it happens with the help of Big Tech. However, it seems they are now trying to use Congress to do it as well.
On February 22, two members of the House sent a letter to John Stankey, the CEO of AT&T, about misinformation in the digital world.
Representatives Anna Eshoo (D-CA) and Jerry McNerney (D-CA) said they were concerned with the company’s role in “disseminating misinformation to millions” of people who pay for their programming on other platforms, such as DirecTV. They demanded to know why the company was still carrying Fox News and OANN, how many of their viewers watched conservative news prior to the Capitol Hill incident, and what actions they’ve taken to punish the networks.
A substantially more egregious assault on the free press than anything Trump did, and yet it’ll pass with barely a whisper. https://t.co/36EqO4csaF

The letter was reportedly sent to other CEOs of media companies, too. From the looks of it, the lawmakers are pressuring the companies into either banning conservative networks or punishing them. Both actions would be a violation of the First Amendment and cannot be tolerated. So, what is the rest of Congress going to do about it?
