Dan Crenshaw Rushed Into Emergency Surgery After Health Troubles

(WatchDogReport.org) – Freshman Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) is one of the most well-respected members of the Republican Party. The former Navy Seal lost vision in his right eye during a 2012 deployment in Afghanistan, but he hasn’t let his injuries slow him down. Recently, though, he was rushed into emergency surgery to repair his “good eye.”

On Saturday, April 10, Crenshaw’s office posted a statement on Twitter explaining what happened.

According to the lawmaker, Crenshaw started seeing black spots on Thursday, April 8. So, he went to the ophthalmologist. The doctor discovered his retina was detaching and rushed him into emergency surgery to repair it on Friday morning. Crenshaw explained that he is “effectively blind” now as he recovers from the surgery. For the next week or so, he has to be in a face-down position.

Crenshaw said he will be “off the grid for the next few weeks.” He said his office will still be open to help his constituents and asked for prayers that his “visions will get back to normal.”

We wish the congressman a speedy and full recovery.
