(WatchDogReport.org) – New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) has been embroiled in a scandal surrounding the decisions he made during the COVID-19 crisis. Specifically, his decision to send coronavirus-positive patients back into nursing homes. State Attorney Letitia James has even accused the Democrat’s administration of undercounting the deaths attributed to long-term care facilities.
Recently, the governor’s aides have revealed it’s much worse.
On Wednesday, February 10, NY Secretary to the Governor Melissa DeRosa spoke to Democratic lawmakers on a zoom call. During the discussion, she acknowledged the administration paused the collection of nursing home death data.
In light of the continued Cuomo nursing home coverup, I’m joining with @NYSenatorJordan to create a criminal penalty for violating NY’s open government /Freedom of Information Law to hold governors and top appointees personally accountable. https://t.co/6szUPZE6ym

That wasn’t the only bombshell revelation; DeRosa also said the homes have “been getting away with a lot for a lot of years.” Worse, Cuomo’s counsel, Beth Garvey, admitted none of the nursing homes have lost their licenses as a result of the COVID-19 deaths.
So, not only did Cuomo’s administration allegedly cover-up the number of people who died as the result of his decision, the nursing homes aren’t being punished either. When are the families involved going to get justice?
