Chief Of Staff Resigns Without Warning

(WatchDogReport.org) – The Chief of Staff for Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs has resigned without notice. While the chief of staff had been in her role for five months, she had reportedly worked with the Governor for “four and a half” years at the time of her resignation.

A statement from the Arizona Governor’s office on Thursday, May 25, explained that Hobbs’ chief of staff, Allie Bones, resigned her post “effective immediately” on that date. Bones was described as the “fourth” of Hobbs’ top advisors to have left the administration. Reportedly, Governor Hobbs has known Bones for “decades.”

The resignation announcement stated that Bones had left the administration to “pursue new opportunities.” Bones’ resignation followed those of Hobb’s Communications Director, Deputy Communications Director, and Legislative Affairs Director.

Political commentators are skeptical of Bones’ choice to leave, despite statements from the governor that she “wished the best ” for Bones. On May 25, the Kari Lake War Room Twitter page claimed that there was “more to the departure” than meets the eyes and that the Bones’ resignation had signaled that the “real” governor was leaving the administration.

In the view of Kari Lake War Room, the Hobbs’ administration is a “sinking ship,” and that was the cause of the resignations. Kari Lake was the Republican candidate for Arizona Governor that former President Donald Trump endorsed. The war room account is critical of the Hobbs administration as Hobbs’ was Lake’s rival candidate in 2022 and was elected.

The political skepticism posed by Kari Lake’s Twitter Page was met with mixed responses. One Arizonan accused the page of spreading disinformation about the administration and claimed that Kari Lake herself had been fired from Fox News Channel 10 Phoenix for disseminating false narratives. Political banter followed. The discussion stemmed from an event in 2021 where Kari Lake, a long-time anchor of Fox News 10, had been absent from the network. Lake claimed then that her absence was not due to being fired or reprimanded. Lake, who had been involved in various controversies up to that point, resigned from Fox News 10 in March 2021 after serving with the network for 22 years.
