Biden Challenges Americans to Name a Single Failure

( – On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, President Joe Biden gave a speech commemorating the one-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act. During the speech, President Biden proclaimed the Inflation Reduction Act to be successful.

According to the President, inflation is down, unemployment is down, and there are more jobs available than before the pandemic. The President addressed the Republican “side of the aisle,” claiming they only comment negatively about what they perceive to be “wrong with America.”

The President then angrily shouted that he wanted someone to name a “single objective” that America has failed to achieve. He continued to exclaim that Republicans deem the country to be failing but insisted, “America is winning!” highlighting the division between the parties.

Unfortunately, the numbers do not match the President’s enthusiasm. According to the latest Consumer Price Index report, inflation rose 3.2% from 2022 in July, and a 0.2% increase in the cost of goods was recorded from June to July 2023. These numbers also contradict a Twitter post by Vice President Kamala Harris on August 4, 2023, where she claimed inflation has steadily dropped for 12 consecutive months.

The President did not address the ongoing border crisis, where there are again claims of children being separated from families as thousands of immigrants continue to enter the country illegally. Nor did he address the approaching anniversary of the 13 lives lost in the terrorist attack in Kabul on August 26, 2021, during the withdrawal of American troops. Many Americans would deem the loss of the 13 military personnel a failure.

The Biden Administration previously attributed the problems with the withdrawal to former President Donald Trump, claiming that Trump left the situation unresolved and left no information on how he planned to conduct the final exit.

President Biden ended his speech by expressing optimism for America’s future and declaring that America is still the “beacon to the world.”
